How Maps Scraper collects, uses, and protects your information.
Last updated: June 6, 2026
1. Introduction
Maps Scraper ("we", "us", or "our") provides a lead-generation platform that helps users discover business listings from Google Maps, manage leads, and send outreach emails. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using our services, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use Maps Scraper.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you register, we collect:
- Name and email address
- Encrypted password (if you sign up with email and password)
- Account preferences and wallet balance
Google Sign-In
If you choose "Sign in with Google", we receive basic profile information from Google (such as your name and email address) to create and authenticate your account. We use Google's OAuth service only for authentication unless you separately connect Gmail for outreach (see below).
Gmail connection (optional)
If you connect your Gmail account for outreach email, you authorize Maps Scraper to access your Gmail account with the following permissions:
- Send email — to send outreach messages you compose to your leads
- Read email — to display conversation history and sync replies related to outreach
- Email address — to identify which Gmail account is connected
We store encrypted OAuth tokens required to maintain this connection. We do not sell your Gmail data. Maps Scraper only uses Gmail access for features you initiate (sending outreach and viewing related threads). You can disconnect Gmail at any time from your account settings.
Maps Scraper’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google Maps business listing data
Maps Scraper’s core feature is lead generation from Google Maps. When you submit a keyword and city, we access Google Maps on your behalf to find matching businesses and collect publicly visible listing information, including business name, address, phone number, website, email (when shown), ratings, review counts, opening hours, and related metadata.
This information is stored in your account so you can filter, export, update lead status, and conduct outreach. We do not sell Google Maps listing data to third parties. You are responsible for using collected data in compliance with applicable laws and third-party terms, including Google's Terms of Service.
Google APIs we use
Maps Scraper integrates with the following Google services:
- Google OAuth (Sign-In) — authenticates your account and provides your name and email
- Gmail API — optional; sends outreach email and reads replies in threads you started (see Gmail connection above)
We do not use Gmail or Google Sign-In data for advertising. Limited data from Google APIs is used only to provide the features described in this policy.
Outreach and email content
When you send outreach emails, we store email templates you create, message subjects and bodies, send status, and conversation metadata linked to your leads.
Payment information
Wallet top-ups are processed by our payment provider (Razorpay). We do not store full card or bank details on our servers. We retain transaction references, amounts, and credit purchase history associated with your account.
Contact form and support
If you contact us, we collect the information you submit (name, email, message, and optional phone or subject) to respond to your enquiry.
Technical and usage data
We automatically collect standard log and device information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps to operate, secure, and improve the service.
3. How we use your information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain Maps Scraper
- Run scrape jobs and store leads in your account
- Send outreach emails when you request them via your connected Gmail account
- Process payments and manage wallet credits
- Authenticate users and prevent fraud or abuse
- Send service-related emails (account, billing, scrape completion, low balance)
- Respond to support requests
- Improve reliability, performance, and security
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in these cases:
- Service providers — hosting, email delivery, payment processing, and infrastructure partners who process data on our behalf under contractual obligations
- Google — when you use Google Sign-In or connect Gmail, as required to provide those features
- Legal requirements — if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required
5. Data retention
We retain your account data and leads for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or accounting purposes.
Gmail OAuth tokens are removed when you disconnect Gmail. Outreach message records may be retained to show conversation history until you delete related data or your account.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption of sensitive credentials (such as Gmail OAuth tokens), access controls, and secure connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you
- Disconnect Gmail from your account settings
- Export your lead data from the Businesses section
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
To exercise these rights, contact us via our contact page. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and secure the application. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on the authenticated app.
9. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers.
10. Children’s privacy
Maps Scraper is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
